• Anti-slip steps and strategically placed handrails

A BIT OF LOADER HISTORY
Volvo’s, or rather BM’s, first wheeled loader was the H10. But where did it come from?
To start with, engineers simply turned an agricultural tractor back-to-front. By placing the loader unit over the bigger wheels, they reasoned that it would be capable of lifting heavier loads.
The H10 wheeled loader was based on a series of different tractors, including the BM 470. The H10 was a major success at the time; it was the world’s first wheeled loader with a parallel linkage, double-acting lift rams and a purpose-designed attachment bracket.
FULLY LOADED
Whatever the job, we have the tools to get it done. Volvo offers a full range of Volvo buckets, including general purpose, grading, refuse, light material, and more, to handle everything, from light material to heavy rocks. Built on decades of engineering excellence, Volvo buckets are optimized for Volvo wheel loaders and durably designed for all types of materials and tasks.
THE NEW L70 LOADING SHOVEL – AN UPDATED MODEL FOR OPTIMUM RESULTS
Its packed with innovative features that achieve up to 20% greater fuel efficiency than older models. Combining new optimized loading unit weight, redesigned counterweight, and increased top speed of 50km/h, facilitated by the optional lock-up function, the next-generation wheel loader delivers greater profitability in every load.

WOW WHAT CAN WE SAY? MARCH HAS BEEN A MANIC ONE! VOLVO HAVE HAD A BUMPER MONTH AND EMS EXETER, PLYMOUTH AND TORBAY YARDS HAVE ALL BEEN KEPT BUSIER THAN EVER!
As you all know we’ve been fortunate enough to continue work as normal throughout the last 12 months. Last March was busy but this one has been absolutely manic! We’ve kept up with demand though and maintained our high standards across all businesses. EMS have been absolutely inundated across all three yards. Delivering and collecting across the whole of the Southwest area.
Here’s a snapshot of whats been keeping us busy!
If you’d like some more information about any of our services including the Volvo side, landfill or skip hire, recycling and waste management give us a call. Our team are always on hand to help and offer advice.
There’s a lot people don’t realise when it comes to disposing of your unwanted commercial waste items. The quickest way by far is to hire a skip, chuck it all in and let us come and take it away.
But you may have been told that there’s certain things you can’t put in your skip. Wood isn’t one of them but its one of the more complex items to recycle and its not quite as basic as you’d think!.
We thought you might want to know a bit more about the process?
HOW IS WOOD RECYCLED?
Well wood is mainly recycled by being reused. It’s such a widely used and versatile material which can be cut to size, sanded, re-painted etc in order to have its appearance drastically changed to suit a wide range of different functions.
From a construction point wood can also be recycled and turned into man-made medium-density fibreboard – MDF as it is commonly known as. This is made by basically compressing and processing different wood residuals.
RECYCLING WOOD WITH EMS
‘Scrap wood’ that’s come from home improvements for example, along with other untreated wood has a number of uses for recycling. It can be chipped and used in compost or mulch or be turned into particleboard or chipboard lumber.
Wood that has been treated, painted, varnished or otherwise finished is not good for recycling. It should also not be burned in a fireplace due to the toxic chemicals found in the wood treatment solutions. You should dispose of this type of wood at your local landfill or recycling centre. We accept this type of wood in a skip or you can bring the waste to the recycling facility in Exeter.
Most construction projects produce some level of wood waste. No matter how big or small the project it is EMS can advise you on the best way to properly dispose of, or recycle wood. If not disposed of properly it can be a harmful action for both your business and the environment.
IF YOUR WORKPLACE PRODUCES ANY WOOD WASTE AND YOU’RE WONDERING WHAT YOU SHOULD DO WITH IT, READ OUR USEFUL TIPS BELOW ON THE BENEFITS OF RECYCLING:
REDUCE FIRE RISK
Large piles of wood waste close to any property or facility is a huge fire hazard. Idle piles of wood pose tempting to vandals and are a flammable danger that can not only affect your business workplace but also other workplaces or residential areas surrounding.
We’d advise either hiring a skip to keep everything together and away from the buildings and to contact a professional recycling facility like EMS.
We offer the perfect solution to any of the waste disposal needs of your business across the whole of the Southwest and this includes wood. We run an efficient service with trade accounts available and we pride ourselves on the levels of waste we recycle and the positive impact this has on the environment.
PRESERVE NATURAL RESOURCES
As we all know replanting trees takes decades before they reach maturity again. The more we can recycle the less we need to impact on the environment. When you choose to recycle wood waste, you extend the product’s life and reduce the need to cut down more trees
Our team of recycling experts in Exeter, Plymouth and Paignton offer advice on wood disposal. We have a special service for trade customers at our Waste Transfer Station based in Exeter. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any queries about recycling any of your business or domestic waste.
WELL HERE WE GO AGAIN! WHAT CAN WE SAY? LOCKDOWN NUMBER THREE IS UPON US.
After what can only be described as the most bizarre year ever we were really hoping that by now things might have started to return to normal but it appears we were being way to optimistic.
We were one of the fortunate companies that continued to trade as normal during last years chaos and we wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of our loyal customers once again for the support you showed us. It was a horrible year for many of us and being separated from our loved ones was the hardest part so we were very grateful to still have some normality regarding work.
SO LOCKDOWN NUMBER 3 HERE WE COME!
Well the good news is that we’re still allowed to keep trading as usual for the majority of the business. So Volvo are still open, the farming and property side and mainly EMS so we’ll be here for all your Skip Hire, Waste Management and Scrap Metal requirements.
Remember you can book your skip online to save time. Just go to the book online button and choose your size and area and we’ll do the rest!
If you need any of our services we are following very strict social distancing guidelines for the safety of both our staff and customers. For further help and advice please give the office a call. We’re always happy to help.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and lets hope they manage to get this awful virus under control very soon.
