Stuarts are Volvo Truck Dealer of the Year 2018
We at Stuarts Truck & Bus are the proud winners of the 2018 Volvo Truck Dealer of the Year award, serving the West Country as the region’s only authorised dealer for Volvo trucks.
We couple the sale of our vehicles with the provision of service and repair to all other makes, including trailers, as we aim to provide the same great service to all across the region.
Having been partnered with Volvo for over 30 years, we’ve expanded operations from our depot in Exeter to bases in Plymouth and Redruth allowing us to cover the entire south-west. Our new depot is now open in Roche as our business continues to grow. Replacing the depot in Redruth this larger, highly equipped site will serve the customers of Cornwall and surrounding areas with the same level of professionalism our customers have come to expect from Stuarts.
Family business
The Stuarts family have been running the business since the early 1940s when Mr Alf Stuart bought his first second-hand truck for transporting cattle.
Today, after many developments, the company remains in Stuart hands and we’ve expanded our remit to expand the cattle farming, agricultural contracting, inert Landfill, recycling and skip Hire, as well as the purchase and letting of business units and much more in the pipeline.
We continue to provide an excellent service to Devon and Cornwall in the various services that we provide, with our operation as a truck and bus dealership now earning national plaudits.
Being committed to providing businesses in the area with quality trucks pays dividends and it’s testament to the hard work carried out by the team at Stuarts that recognition should come as the premier Volvo truck supplier of 2018.

South West-based Volvo trucks dealership, Stuarts Truck & Bus has opened a new Dealerpoint near Roche in Cornwall.
The recently redeveloped seven-acre site is adjacent to the main A30 expressway at Victoria Business Park and represents a six-figure investment for the company, which covers the entire Devon and Cornwall peninsula with their other established Volvo Dealerpoints in Exeter and Plymouth.
Stuarts Truck & Bus opened the Victoria Dealerpoint on 16th October 2017 when its former site in Redruth was closed.
The new facility offers greatly increased space and includes an eight bay, drive-through workshop neighbouring a fully stocked parts department.
An integral office block contains both the workshop and parts reception desks, in addition to a driver waiting area and welfare facilities.
Justin Fisher and Martin Williams, Sales Directors at Stuarts Truck & Bus, will provide new and used Volvo truck sales for the area.
“Our new Victoria site strengthens our commitment to existing and new Volvo truck and bus customers in Cornwall,” reports Ryan Stuart, Operations Director at Stuarts Truck & Bus, adding “We are scheduled to have an Authorised Testing facility (MOT) bay open soon and the feedback from the local community has been extremely positive. People are pleased to see investment in the Cornish economy.”
Depot manager, Chris Knowd heads up the team at Victoria Dealerpoint, which offers a full Volvo service facility that includes a tachograph centre, Volvo Action Service 24-hour breakdown cover and pre-MOT checking, including roller brake testing. The well-equipped workshop also includes two full length inspection pits and vehicle hoists.
“The new Victoria Dealerpoint offers us a much increased capacity in addition to a more convenient location. Most of our customer base will literally pass the door when using the A30. At present our opening hours are day-shift based, but our intention is to move to 7am to 11pm, Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings as soon as possible,” declares Ryan Stuart.
In 2004 Stuarts took over the Volvo Dealerships at Saltash and Redruth followed by the start of new and used Volvo truck sales in 2013, after decades of operating a service and repair franchise.
“Those additional properties and the start of truck sales really changed the way we did business,” recalls Ryan Stuart. “We are now pushing towards 30 per cent market share for Volvo Trucks in Devon and Cornwall and our goal is continue and grow our position as the strongest truck dealership representation in South West England.”

New Volvo Depot
We are excited to announce the opening of our new depot at Victoria Business Park, Roche, Cornwall. This new facility will supply Volvo commercial vehicles, parts and servicing across the South West.
New Roche Depot
Here at Stuarts we have a long history in transportation. Our relationship with Volvo stretches as far back as 1968 when we operated our first Volvo F88. Then in 1977 we became the official Volvo truck dealer for Devon, and eventually including Cornwall.
As Devon and Cornwall’s only authorised dealer for Volvo trucks and buses, we strive to improve our coverage to ensure we are within easy reach of our customers. We are continuously looking for new ways to strengthen our service.
Although the Redruth depot will be closing, the new facility will enhance our network of depots, which includes facilities in Exeter and Plymouth. Stuarts will continue to serve the whole of the West Country right down to Lands End.

The new depot will provide major upgrades to the Stuart’s network.
The Victoria facility will be capable of servicing and repairing all makes of vehicle, plus of course Volvo trucks and buses. Including air conditioning and wheel alignment.
To complete the depot offering there is a useful onsite ATF/MOT centre.
