CAN YOU BELIEVE OUR WASTE TRANSFER SITE IN EXETER HAS BEEN FULLY FUNCTIONING FOR OVER THREE YEARS!!
IT’S SEEN SOME REAL ACTION IN THAT TIME AND WE WERE FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO KEEP TRADING AS USUAL ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE COVID LOCKDOWNS.
We pride ourselves on having and keeping up to date with the latest technology, equipment and methods to ensure we recycle the maximum we can and keep proving an unbeatable service to the people and businesses of Devon and Cornwall.
Unfortunately sorting through this much waste can be a bit messy! And our poor transfer site was looking a bit dirty from all the dust and grime flying around and sticking to surfaces.
They recommended cleaning and de greasing the walls and surfaces to remove the dust and generally clean everything up.
We like to think we give our staff as nice an environment as possible to work in and the way the site was starting to look was bothering us.
Darren from Southwest Cleaning Group and his team worked around our opening hours so as not to interfere with the production line and overall processes.
This meant a few hard, long weekends including the bank holiday but we are absolutely thrilled with the results.
Hiring skips from us results in more than an easy disposal system for your domestic or industrial waste.
It ensures that your waste is handled properly and respectfully, which means it is recycled as far as possible to reduce landfill contents and harmful emissions from incorrectly disposing of waste (i.e. burning waste).
Our waste transfer site uses advanced procedures (including industrial magnets and size sorting schemes) and high-quality machinery to efficiently and effectively recycle materials given to us.
This is topped off with feedback on our exceptional customer service from people in the community.
After all, we believe that working together to improve our environment is the best way forward.
Our waste transfer site has helped the community and the environment. Beyond increasing employment rates by taking on more staff in Exeter, our company is currently able to recycle over 95% of all waste recovered, domestic or industrial.
This has an incredible impact on the environment, and we are proud to provide a big contribution to the rise of eco-friendly initiatives nationwide.
Fantastic as that figure may be, we at EMS are striving to increase our statistics to 100% recycled material. Installing a segregation line to separate materials such as plastic, glass, and metal helps us along the way, but there’s more work to be done.
We’re always thinking of ways to improve and will continue to invest in the business and new equipment. Keeping the building in tip top condition is just a very small part of the operation but it makes it a lot nicer place to work!
